Lauren and I are officially home owners now! Actually it's been two weeks now, but we are finally feeling settled in. We closed on the house on Thursday, June 30th. That morning we got the keys and went to start painting. The first project was the blue dining room. We thought that we could knock it out in one day. We knocked it out in one week. Painting always sounds more fun than it is. That first week and a half we finished painting and Lauren cleaned and moved boxes while I was at work (thank you Aunt Theresa for all your help!) Last Saturday, July 8, We rented a truck and some guys from work helped me move all of the furniture from the apartment.MOVING TIP FROM KYLE: When recruiting help to move from an apartment, don't mention that you live on the third floor until after they show up. At that point, it's too late to back out...(Thank you Jim, Nick and Larry).
That Saturday was our official move in. This last Thursday we finished clearing the old apt. and turned in the keys.
The cats love the new house. Spot was freaked out when we first moved him here. He spent the first eight hours here under the bed crying. Lilly didn't mind the move at all. She's a little adventurer. Today we hung pictures on the walls and put finishing touches on the dining room. It really is starting to feel like home. Now we just have to finish emptying the boxes!
