Although you have probably already decided who you're voting for in '08, Aaron is getting a jump on Election '48 by announing his candidacy a little early. This is his platform:
1. Economy- He'd like to see every American pull himself up by his or her bootie straps.
2. Women's Issues- Strong pro-life stance.
3. Energy- The newest bio-fuel? He's got a diaper full right now that could fuel a Hummer.
4. Homeland Security- He'd put Tucker in charge.
5. Foreign Policy- That one he's still working on. He hasn't yet left North Carolina. He's only two months old.
Aaron Monroe Burrows- A Change We Need...Because My Diaper Is Full!
We took Tucker to a dog park here in Fayetteville. He had a great time running, sniffing things. This other little puppy was just worn out.

Captain Adorable
Aaron has really started to smile and interact with us over this past week. He's also been blowing bubbles, as you might be able to see in these photos.
Tucker has been really good with the baby. He likes to try to lick his feet when I'm not looking, but I guess there could be worse things. He's a good dog.

New Mom Learning Curve
I have discovered the power of Desitin. It only took me about 5 weeks to realize that Desitin CREAMY is not the same as Desitin ORIGINAL. After weeks of trying different products, a trip to the pediatrician's office, frequent baths and diaper changes, and lots of new mom worries, I read the back of the Desitin ORIGINAL box and realized that it contains 40% zinc oxide, as compared to only 10% found in the CREAMY version. It worked like a charm. The other cool thing is that if you get Desitin under enough of your finger nails, it looks like you have a French manicure. Can you tell I've been a little sheltered lately?
Go Blue!
The other thing I've learned, after receiving advice from my Supermom friend Kristen, is that babies tend to sleep longer if they are swaddled. We've been using blankets, but he squirms out of them pretty easily. This is Aaron in his new SwaddleMe Blanket by Kiddopotamus. Already today, he's taken a longer nap than usual. We'll soon see whether this was a coincidence, or truly the gift from God that I think it is.Go Blue!
Grandma D helped out with bath night. She and Ron are visiting for the weekend.
Although this isn't a full-out smile, it is headed in that direction. I just wanted you all to know that my baby does actually smile sometimes. Once he gets big enough to realize how funny his Daddy is, he won't be able to stop!

New Diapers
As most of you already know, I will be using cloth diapers on Aaron. We bought a few different brands and decided that we liked Happy Heiney's the best. So we ordered them and they came in the mail yesterday! They are super easy to use, just stuff the liner into the pocket and put it on like a regular disposable diaper. Everything gets thrown into the wash together, then dried together. Here is Aaron modeling some of the colors. He's been doing really well. We had a nice time today laying out on a blanket in the backyard. We had beautiful, low 70's weather- it was great.
He takes his stretching very seriously.
