Aaron @ 10 months

Momma's little hunk!
We got a Kelty Kids hiking carrier for our trip next month. Thanks John and Jan!
We are still in the process of baby-proofing the house, so Aaron wants to get in all the climbing he can before the locks go on.

Summertime #1

We went to the Splash Park in Fayetteville. We all liked it because it was a very hot day. Aaron is a little young for it, but he still loved getting wet and watching the older kids.

Summertime #2

Aaron's swim time didn't last very long. He was way more interested in crawling in the grass, eating leaves off the plants and messing with the ants. At least he looked cute in his Speedo!
Tucker and Aaron. The best part of this day was realizing that my digital camera was not ruined after dropping it in the pool. Thank you, Lord!
I bought Aaron this lamb that plays "Jesus Loves Me" and it has become his new sleeping buddy. It is so sweet!

Some Photos

My Mom was so helpful with Aaron- and he definitly gave us all a run for our money because he was teething last week. Thank you Mom!

Danielle only has about 3 months to go until her new little bundle of blue joy arrives. She looks so good. It was really nice to have her and Brian here.
Aaron watching a Red Wings game.
We went swimming in my friend's little pool. It was so cute to see the three 10 month old babies interacting. Aaron wore his rash guard with a swim diaper.

Keep scrolling down for more photos. I've posted 3 more entries. Feel free to comment on any of them and tell me how cute my boy is. Enjoy!

Build-A-Bear

We reluctantly went to this store while at the mall, but I must say that I am now a believer in what they've got going on here. Elliot chose this cute little puppy and helped stuff him by stepping on the pedal of the fluff machine. Then he chose a heart to put in him. He had to rub it on his muscles so the puppy would be strong and touch it to his heart so he would always feel loved. Then the heart went in, and puppy was stitched up.
Next step, Elliot and Brian gave the new puppy a bath. Elliot stepped on the pedal to blow him off and Brian used the brush.
Tadaa! And this is how Walter came to be. The name Walter came from Walter, the Farting Dog book. BTW, if Walter ever gets lost, he only needs to be returned to any Build-A-Bear store and they will send him back to Elliot. Pretty cool, huh?
Aaron fit perfectly in the bear-sized sunglasses. I thought his Uncle Dave would like this look.

Down On the Farm

While our visitors were in town, we visited the Gillis-Hill Farm near my house. They have crops, animals, a tobacco house, saw mill and other interesting time period artifacts. The boys really liked the animals, but I think Aaron was afraid when the roosters were crowing.

This is Lion, the 2,000 lb. ox.
Elliot especially liked the bunnies.
What a little stinker!

Just Checking In

Aaron likes to sit on our mini-trampoline. As you might imagine, he gets more use out of it than Kyle and I.

Last week, Danielle, Brian, Elliot and my mom came to visit us. We went to Wilmington, where there was a replica clipper ship on the river. We went to the farmer's market on Saturday morning. It was very nice to see all the fresh herbs, produce and flowers.
Aaron just can't help himself when it comes to Nascar- he likes to watch the cars go fast- real fast!
We also went to the NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher. Elliot was very interested in all the cool exhibits. We even got to watch them feed the alligators.

After!

Lauren and I finished our island project this evening. It was a lot of work, but we are very happy with the results. Below you'll find a great 'before and after' and you can click the slide show to see the web album. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to put some aloe on my sunburn...

Nothing Runs Like A Deere

So, Daddy's been really excited to get Aaron his first truck. Last Saturday Mommy took Aaron to get a truck and she hit a grand slam! Aaron is the proud owner of a John Deere corn combine with a spinning loader and rocking corn. When asked how he felt about the new toy, Aaron said' "Tractors are cool, but blocks taste better."

He's Moving!

Update: The video was posted last night (Tuesday). I was so excited, when I got home from work, to watch Aaron crawl! So, now it's Wednesday morning. Aaron is loving his new superpower of mobility. I have just realized that our world has just made a seismic shift! Aaron has already made three laps around the living room (and it's 6:30am!) Something in his baby brain instinctively makes him crawl directly to a) the DVD player with all the cool knobs and buttons, or b) the computer with the super cool cord hanging off of it. Gone are the days of living life while Aaron sits happily in the middle of living room with a pile of toys. You don't know what you've got 'till it's gone.

Island Project

Lauren and I have been working on the island in the corner of our yard.
It has been wasting away since we moved in 3 years we've been here.
I think it should be finished on Thursday.
Here is what we have done so far.

Baby Basics 101

I would like to preface this story by saying that I love Kyle very much and he is an awesome father and husband...but you've got to see this. This is what happened when Kyle dressed Aaron the other day. Please notice the backward shorts and shoes on the wrong feet. In Kyle's defense, I must say that this is the first time this has happened, but it was too cute to miss.

Kyle and Aaron watching the Masters on TV. I guess Aaron wanted Tiger to win.
Everyone knows that the basket or box that the toys come in is much better than the toy itself. Aaron figured this out quickly.
I thought it was funny that Aaron scooted up as close as possible to the TV. He's not crawling yet, but he somehow made it there.

Best Friends

Aaron likes when it rains- especially when we stand on the front porch and watch it come down. Here he is looking out the back door.

On March 13th my best friend in all of the Carolinas, Kristin, had her baby. Welcome baby Bella! She weighs about 7 lbs. 9 oz. Aaron weighs about 22 lbs now. They're going to be best buds. We think he already likes her.
Isn't she lovely?
I love taking pictures of a smiling baby!!
